How to Connect Outlook Email for the cPanel Control Panel at iCoreHosting

This guide provides detailed instructions on how to set up your iCoreHosting email account with Microsoft Outlook using the cPanel control panel. By following these steps, you'll be able to send and receive emails through Outlook.

Requirements

  • An active email account created through iCoreHosting's cPanel.
  • Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer.

Step 1: Log into cPanel

  1. Open your web browser and go to iCoreHosting's cPanel login page.
  2. Enter your username and password to log in.

Step 2: Obtain Email Configuration Settings

  1. Once logged into cPanel, navigate to the “Email” section and click on “Email Accounts.”
  2. Find the email account you wish to use with Outlook and click on “Connect Devices” or “Set Up Mail Client” next to the email account.
  3. Scroll down to the “Mail Client Manual Settings” section. Here, you’ll find the necessary information for both SSL and Non-SSL settings. Note down the details under the “Secure SSL/TLS Settings” (Recommended).

Step 3: Set Up Outlook

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Go to the “File” menu and click on “Add Account.”
  3. Select “Manual setup or additional server types” and click “Next.”
  4. Choose “POP or IMAP” and click “Next.”
  5. Fill out the following fields:
    • Your Name: The name you want your recipients to see.
    • Email Address: The full email address created in your cPanel.
    • Account Type: IMAP or POP3 (IMAP is recommended as it keeps your emails synchronized across all devices).
    • Incoming mail server: The server address noted from cPanel.
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Same as the incoming mail server.
    • User Name: Your full email address again.
    • Password: The password for your email account.
  6. Click on “More Settings…” and go to the “Outgoing Server” tab. Check the box for “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” and ensure “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” is selected.
  7. Go to the “Advanced” tab and enter the following settings:
    • Incoming server (IMAP): Port provided in cPanel (usually 993 for SSL).
    • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL.
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): Port provided in cPanel (usually 465 or 587 for SSL).
    • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL or TLS (depending on what is recommended in cPanel).
  8. Click “OK” and then “Next.” Outlook will test the account settings and confirm connectivity.

Step 4: Complete Setup

  1. Once Outlook completes the test successfully, click “Finish.”
  2. Restart Outlook to start using your iCoreHosting email.

Troubleshooting

  • If you encounter any issues, double-check your entered settings, especially the server names, ports, and password.
  • Ensure that Outlook is allowed through your firewall.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully set up your iCoreHosting email with Microsoft Outlook. If you need any assistance, contact iCoreHosting support for help.
