iCoreHosting Email Guide
How to Create an Email Account in cPanel
Works for: all iCoreHosting cPanel-based hosting plans
TL;DR: In cPanel, go to Email ➜ Email Accounts ➜ Create. Enter the mailbox name (local part), pick the domain, set a strong password, set storage quota, then Create. Use the provided device settings for Outlook/Apple Mail/Gmail apps.
Prerequisite: Your domain’s MX records must point to this cPanel server.
Client Area: billing.icore.com.my/clientarea.php
Create a New Mailbox (Step-by-Step)
- Log in to cPanel for your hosting account.
- In the Email section, click Email Accounts.
- Click the Create button.
- Domain: Choose the correct domain (e.g.,
example.com). - Username: Enter the mailbox name (local part), e.g.,
sales. The full address becomes[email protected]. - Password: Set a strong password (12–16+ chars, mixed case, numbers & symbols). Use the generator if available.
- Storage Space: Choose a quota (e.g., 1–5 GB) or set “Unlimited” if your plan allows. We recommend enabling “Send a welcome email with mail client configuration”.
- (Optional) Security: Enable “Device/Client Configuration” hints and consider enforcing SSL/TLS-only connections.
- Click Create. You’ll see the new mailbox listed under Email Accounts.
Access Options & Device Settings
Webmail (quickest): cPanel ➜ Email Accounts ➜ Check Email, or visit
https://yourdomain.com/webmail and log in.Typical IMAP/SMTP (SSL/TLS) settings:

Outgoing (SMTP):
Incoming (IMAP):
mail.yourdomain.com, Port 993, SSL/TLS, email address & passwordOutgoing (SMTP):
mail.yourdomain.com, Port 465 (SSL/TLS) or 587 (STARTTLS), auth requiredOutlook/Apple Mail/Android: In Email Accounts, click Connect Devices to view auto-generated settings and configuration guides.
Best Practices
- Use IMAP on multiple devices so mail stays synced on the server.
- Keep at least 10–20% free space to prevent send/receive failures when nearing quota.
- Enable SSL/TLS for both IMAP and SMTP; never use plaintext ports.
- Set a strong password policy and rotate passwords when staff changes.
- Create aliases/forwarders for roles (e.g.,
info@) rather than sharing personal inboxes. - Avoid forwarding directly to Gmail/Yahoo/Hotmail (free providers impose strict limits) — use POP/IMAP fetch on the destination if needed.
Test the New Mailbox
- Send a message to the new address from an external account (e.g., Gmail).
- Reply from the new mailbox to confirm SMTP works.
- Check spam/junk if you don’t see the message.
Troubleshooting
Authentication failed? Re-enter the full email address as the username, verify the password, and confirm IMAP/SMTP ports (993/465 or 587).
Quota full? Increase the mailbox quota or archive mail to local folders. Empty Trash/Junk in Webmail.
DNS/MX mismatch? If the domain’s MX doesn’t point to this server, delivery will fail. Update DNS or contact support.
