How to Get Wix Web Address and Update DNS A Record
Step 1: Retrieve Wix IP Address
If your website is hosted on Wix and you need to update the A record in your domain’s DNS settings, follow these steps:
1.Log in to Wix at https://www.wix.com.
2.Click on your profile picture (top right) and go to Domains.
3.Select the domain you want to update.
4.Scroll down to the Connection Method section:
•If using Wix Name Servers, your DNS is managed by Wix.
•If using Connect via Pointing, you will see the Wix IP address (e.g., 185.230.63.107).
5.Copy the provided IP address for later use.
Step 2: Update DNS A Record
1.Log in to your domain registrar (e.g., iCoreHosting, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare).
2.Navigate to DNS Settings or DNS Management.
3.Locate the A Record section.
4.Edit the existing A Record or create a new one:
•Host: @ (or your domain name)
•Type: A Record
•Value: Wix IP address (e.g., 185.230.63.107)
•TTL: Set to default or 1 hour
5.Save changes to apply the new A record.
Step 3: Verify and Wait for DNS Propagation
•Check DNS changes using a tool like DNSChecker.
•DNS updates may take a few minutes to 48 hours to fully propagate.
Once updated, your Wix website will be accessible using your custom domain.
