Hosting and Domain Transfer Guide
This guide explains the correct steps to transfer your hosting data and domain name to iCoreHosting.
1. Getting cPanel Access for Data Migration
- Request the cPanel login details from your current hosting provider.
- Ensure you have full access to files, databases, emails, and DNS settings.
- If the provider does not allow direct login, request a full backup instead.
2. Getting Domain Control Panel Access or Updating Nameservers
- Obtain access to the domain control panel (domain registrar account).
- If access is unavailable, request the provider to update the nameservers on your behalf.
- Use the nameservers provided by iCoreHosting.
3. Updating Domain WHOIS Information
- Ensure the WHOIS contact email belongs to you or the domain owner.
- Update outdated email addresses before requesting a domain transfer.
- This ensures you can receive EPP/transfer approval emails.
4. Obtaining the Domain Transfer Authorization (EPP Code)
- Contact your current domain registrar to obtain the EPP Code (Authorization Code).
- Ensure the domain is unlocked to allow transfer.
- Confirm there are no outstanding invoices that prevent the transfer.
5. Submitting the Transfer to iCoreHosting
- Log in to the iCoreHosting Client Area.
- Go to Domains → Transfer Domain.
- Enter your domain and the EPP Code.
- Approve the transfer email sent by the domain registry or registrar.
