How to Create Email Forwarding in cPanel

How to Add an Email Forwarder in cPanel

Applies to all iCoreHosting cPanel hosting packages

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Login to cPanel using your hosting account details.
  2. Scroll to the Email section and click Forwarders.
  3. Click the Add Forwarder button.
  4. In Address to Forward, type the local part of the email (e.g., info).
  5. Select the correct Domain from the dropdown (e.g., yourdomain.com).
  6. Under Destination, choose Forward to Email Address and enter the target mailbox (e.g., [email protected]).
  7. Click Add Forwarder to save.
Tip: If a mailbox exists for that address, messages will be both delivered locally and forwarded. If no mailbox exists, mail will only be forwarded.
⚠️ Important Remark: Do not forward directly to Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail/Outlook.com or other free mail providers. These services enforce strict receiving limits and forwarded emails can be blocked or dropped.

✅ Use their POP3/IMAP fetch function or forward only to business/enterprise emails.

Testing the Forwarder

  • Send an email from an external account (e.g., Gmail) to the source address.
  • Check the destination mailbox to confirm delivery.
  • If keeping a copy, log in to Webmail (Roundcube) to verify it is stored locally.

Note: iCoreHosting may disable forwarding rules that cause deliverability issues or trigger third-party provider limits.
